Beds FA County Cup joy for Elstow Abbey and Bedford SA |
Premier Division supported by Sportsform With Elstow Abbey away on Beds FA Senior Trophy duty Cranfield United could only increase their lead at the head of the Premier Division league standings by one point after being held to a 2-2 home draw by Crawley Green Reserves. Luke Little and Luciano Cogo on the United scoresheet against Green replies from Robert Newman and Timmy Akerele to help the Green retain their seasons unbeaten ways on the road.. For Shefford Town & Campton Reserves it was an end to their six game winning run when losing 0-3 at home against Riseley Sports who themselves were extending their unbeaten away ways to five games with goals from Alex Taylor ( 21 mins ) Matt Marler ( 40 mins ) and Jay Willet (81 mins ) Whilst fourth place Biggleswade FC Reserves were the 4-0 victors at Flitwick Town with goals from Joe Worboys (13 mins ) Alfie Gardner ( 23mins ) Moussa Jamal (33 mins ) and Oscar Smith ( 63 mins ) Elsewhere, Caldecote lost for the first time in six home outings when beaten 0-3 at home by Stotfold Development whose goals came via Keanu Fleming, Kurtis Alleyne and Harry Buckley from the penalty spot. Also enjoying life on the road to record their first win in eight games were Biggleswade United Reserves in beating AFC Kempston Town Hammers 6-5, a result that lifts United out of the relegation zone to be replaced by their hosts. Neville Nzembala and Brad Heaps with braces plus single goals from Mo Zilbuld and Ansu Koroma marking the United scoresheet against Hammers replies from Jake Duxberry with a hat-trick plus Ellis Crowsley and George Lea Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy Quater-Finals Elstow Abbey duly made their way into the last four by winning 4-0 at AFC Oakley, Glenn Tumulty shooting them ahead in the 25th minute then doubling the lead eleven minutes later from the penalty spot.. It appear game over when Justin Newman headed the Abbey's third goal seven minutes into the second period before another header this time from Scott Alleyne six minutes from time completed the scoring. it however was the end of the road for our other two clubs. Queens Park Crescents beaten 0-7 at home by Leighton Town Reserves. Whilst Sharnbrook lost 4-0 at Totternhoe. Division One There is no change at the head of the Division One standings following wins for the top two sides. League leaders Lea Sports PSG staying four points clear following their sixth win on the bounce 6-0 at home over Wootton Blue Cross. Milton Tomlinson-Dennis and Sean Dixon both netting twice alongside single goals from Kian Devers and Joe Hennem. Whilst second place Totternoe Reserves who have played two games fewer retained their seasons unbeaten away ways and are now unbeaten in their last 12 outings after winning 4-1 at Kempston Rovers Academy u23's. Connor Mckenna with a brace plus single goals from David O'Brien and Kez Robertson only being replied to once by Genesis Baah for the Rovers. For third place Renhold it was a share of the spoils when held to a 1-1 draw at Milton Keynes Sons Set U19's. Filile Mqobongo on the home scoresheet and Sheldon Washington netting for the visitors. Whilst fourth place Buffs FC were the 6-1 home winners over Lewsey Park. Luke Hennesey and Ryan Large with braces joined on the Buffs scoresheet by single goals from James Thompson and Robert Nixon, the lone Park reply coming via the penalty sot from Chris Gibson. Elsewhere, AFC Oakley Reserves returned to winning ways for the first time in six outings by winning 2-1 at bottom of the table Bedford Town U23's. with goals from Alex Liburd and Charlie Corcoran against a lone Town reply from Sean Byrne. Whilst Bedford Albion were the official 5-3 away winners over Clifton in a game that was switched and played on their home pitch at Woodlands. Jamie Hall with a brace and single goals from Marko Todbzic, Paul Babbington and Liam Fenton brought up the nap hand against Clifton replies via Cam Lewis, Tony Gibbs and Jensen Martin. Bedfordshire FA Intermediate Cup Quarter Finals A lone goal from Ollie Hughes was enough to earn Bedford SA a 1-0 home victory over Harlington Juniors and a Semi-Final home tie in the last four against Kempston Rovers Reserves or Cranfield United Reserves. Whilst Henlow were beaten 0-3 at home by AFC Dunstable Development who now face an away tripl to Sporting Carpathians in the Semi-Finals. Division Two supported by Hy-Pro The game of the day saw league leaders Westoning Recreation retain their season's unbeaten away ways by sharing the spoils in a 0-0 draw at now third place Sporting Carpathians who were duly retaining their season's unbeaten home ways. This result seeing Wootton Blue Cross take over that second spot just three points behind the league leaders on whom they have two games in hand after they made it nine wins on the bounce to retain their seasons 100% home record in beating The 61 FC Luton Reserves 4-0 thanks to two gaols from Jack Spada and single goals from Callum Myers and Alan Henman. Also enjoying a 4-0 home victory were Stopsley United over Wilstead thanks to an own goal plus strikes from Kelvin Chirandue, Kemzi Elenwo and Thomas McMahon. Whilst Shefford Town & Campton Development after nine straight defeats returned to winning ways with a 3-2 home win over Caldecote Reserves. Ryan Dobson netting all three goals against replies via Stewart Haddow and Nicky Thomas. Elsewhere, FC Haynes are now unbeaten in their last eight outings following their 3-0 home victory over AFC Bedford United, goals from George Grahame and James Roach plus an own goal doing the damage. Whilst Flitwick Town Reserves returned to winning ways for the first time in eight outings with a 3-1 home victory over Brache Phoenix. Callum Honour, LIam Kearne and Scott Gadsden all finding the back of the net against a lone reply from Ashley Barbour for the visitors. Division Three supported By Hy-Pro Goal difference still is all there is between the top two after they both netted home victories. League leaders Ickwell & Old Warden making it seven wins on the trot with a 4-2 success over Sandy with goals from Zak Robinson, Lee Threadgold, Luke Gurney and Conor Green against replies via Tony Norman and Amin Ibraham. Whilst second place Stotfold Junior are now on a five game winning run after beating Sporting Carpathians Reserves 2-1 with a brace of goals from Ross Irving against a lone reply from Shaka Tavernier-Maddix. There was a 5-2 away win for FC Haynes Reserves at Elstow Abbey Reserves who have now lost their last 10 outings. Ben Worbey and Harry Mabbit both netting twice and Luke Buhagiar once to bring up the nap hand against Abbey replies via Ali Mohiyaldeen and Chris Allen. Whilst Atletico Europa are now without a win in their last nine games after being beaten 1-4 at home by FC Polonia (Luton ) whose goals came from Andrew Martin, Fabian Pawelec, Pawel Seljga and Robert Milolajczak against a lone home reply from Arkadiusz Szczepanski Ali. The Newman United v Sharnbrook Reserves game being postponed. Division Four Blunham now find themselves back onto the top of the Division Four league table after they retained their season's unbeaten home ways with a 4-1 victory over Bedford Wanderers. Connor Heaps netting three times and Adrian Ferguson once against a lone Wanderers reply from Luke Foster. This result taking them two points ahead of Luton Panthers whose home game against Clifton Reserves was abandoned just 23 minutes into play due to the state of the playing surface. For third place Leighton Woodside it was a 2-1 home win over Catsbrook Wanderers. Alex Pearce and Ollie Mallford netting the goals against a lone reply from Nick Sharpe for the Wanderers. Whilst fourth place Harlington Juniors Reserves won 3-2 at Caldecote U23's. with goals from Edward Prior plus Harry Flavell and Ben Dashwood who were scoring for the first time this season., the home replies coming via Karim Kedjar and Jayden Ford. There was a welcome return to winning ways for Meltis Rangers for the first time in 11 games with a 5-2 victory at Revivalists who still await their first point of the season. Ellis Sharp with a hat-trick, a Faith Zih penalty and a strike from Jacob Boon doing the damage against a brace in reply from Phoenix Togera-Mudzvovera for the home side. Whilst a lone goal from Elijah Stewart took Flitwick Tow A to a 1-0 victory and three points at M&DH Clapham Sports Reserves. Elsewhere, also winning on the road were Kempston Athletic 4-1 at Sandy with goals from Lance Jeffers, George Tyrie, Aaron Anderson and Gianluca Testa against a lone home reply from Stewart Robinson. Whilst Marston Shelton Rovers Reserves collected their first home points of the season in beating a CS Rovers side who had won their last three away games. Joel Batson, Ben McShane and Brian West on the home scoresheet against replies from Daniel Bhatti and Kai Barton for the visitors. |
