 Under the floodlights at Hitchin Road the 2025-26 league season got underway where hosts Shefford Town & Campton were beaten 2-0 by the visiting Elstow Abbey. Following a goalless first period the game explored into action during the last 20 minutes, The startng point came on 71 minutes when the home side were reduced to 10 players following a red card for Jake Loriot. and within 60 seconds Glenn Tumulity had shot the Abbey into the lead with a strike that needed the help of a post to land into the back of the net. Their victory and the three points sealed when seven minutes later Steve Gentle headed home goal number two. 

 Saturday 6th September 2025 

 Premier Division supported by Sportsform 

 Defending champions AFC Oakley required a goal deep into time added on to salvage a point from a 5-5 draw at Biggleswade FC Reserves all after being 3-0 up after 43 minutes of play. Their opening goal came via an own goal just seven minutes into the contest or from the claiming Joseph McDonagh before goals from Chisom Amadi (20mins ) and Teddy Daniels took them three goals clear. The home fightback begun when Harry Pyke reduced the arrears in time added on in the opening half before strikes from Fraelis Miemablo (50mins ) and Michael Allen (55mins ) saw the game all square with 35 minutes left to play. It was the visitors who were to regain their lead when Amadi netted his second of the afternoon on 67 minutes but this scoreline remained the same only a further 11 minutes until man of the match Pearce made it 4-4 direct from a free kick then four minutes later he converted a successful penalty to place his side in the front for the first time in the contest. The drama however was far from over with home player Raf Miles seeing red in the 87th minute before up popped Amadi to claim his hat-trick and earn the champions a share of the points in time added on. 

 Last season's silver medallist Marston Shelton Rovers opened their season with a 4-2 home victory over Wootton Blue Cross, Jamie Cerminara led the way with a brace and was joined on the home scoresheet by Luke Clifford and Charlie Cullen against a brace in reply from Noah Marsh. Whilst the top scorers of the day were Cranfield United Reserves who went nap with a 5-0 home victory over Totternhoe Reserves. Omojiseolwa Bankole led the way with a brace once of which came from the penalty spot, whilst goals also came from Jordan Conway, Edas Razanaliskas and a another from the penalty spot from James Elkington. 

 The lone away victory of the afternoon belonged to Riseley Sports when goals from James Cooke and Freddie Spavins took them to the full three points at Flitwick Town whose lone reply came from Daniel Ruddick. 

 For the two newly promoted clubs it was the same outcome being a 1-1 draw. Ben Whalley on the mark for Harlington Juniors in their home encounter with Queens Park Crescents whose reply came via David Melseaux. Whilst Callum Frater netted the Stopsley United goal  away at Caldecote whose home strike came from Kyle Davis. 

 Division One 

 For goals you needed to be at the Baldock Victoria ( new name for Buffs FC ) v Thurleigh game which ended 6-5 in favour of the home side, Elliot Flynn with a brace plus strikes from Karl Safee, Jack Bendon , Rio Biral and George Farrell marked the Victoria scoresheet against replies via Ed Hatfield-Shaw twice plus Tom Burnage, Josh Marshall and Joe Frensham marked the visitors scoresheet. Whilst the biggest winners of the afternoon were Bedford Albion in winning 6-1 at Bletchley Scot. Nathan France hit the back of the net four times alongside single strikes from Shane Cox and Thomas Davies. The lone home reply coming from Nathan Perkins..

 There were also away wins for both Lea Sports PSG and FC Haynes. The PSG with a hat-trick from Mark Davies and a single strike from Jack Stevens winning 4-0 at Wootton Blue Cross Reserves. Whilst FC Haynes won 4-1 at Kempston United via an own goal plus strikes from Cian Mitchell, George Graheme and James Roach against alone United reply from Zack Baker. 

 A brace of goals from Etan Potts plus a successful penalty fired in by Harvey Holland saw AFC Oakley Development to a 3-0 home victory over Harlington Juniors Reserves. Whilst Blunham were thanks to goals from Elthan Ellis and Max Smalley 2-1 home winners over local rivals Caldecote Reserves whose lone reply came from James Tubridy. 

 The lone stalemate of the afternoon seeing LU Donz drawing 3-3 at home with Clifton. Ali Mohiyaldeen with a brace plus David Byass on their scoresheet and Alister Moatt twice and Tony Gibbs once replying for the visitors. 

 Division Two 

 By far the biggest winners of the day were AFC Bedford United who enjoyed a 9-2 home victory over the 10 men of Westoming Reds. Kaylen Wilson and Joshua Odhiiambo with braces plus single goals from Jamie Parker, Tayvon Charles, Josh Emerton, Gary Townsend and Samir Dima doing the damage against Reds replies via Kevin Baxter and Cameron Russell. Whilst the next best was St Joseph's Saturday who ran out 4-0 home winners over Stotfold Junior with goals from Reece Doyle, Jimmy O'Donnell, Simon Richards and Daniele Placi. 

 Also hitting four goals were Queens Park Crescents Reserves in winning 4-2 at Bedford SA thanks to goals from Haamid Ali,Mihammed Brahim, Ibrahim Rafiq and Qasim Tufail against home replies via Ashley Henry-Brown and Ollie Hughes. Whilst a lone goal from Tyla McCabe ten minutes from time took Caddington Reserves to the only other away win of the afternoon at Wixams Wanderers. 

 The lone stalemate of the afternoon saw AFC Kempston Hammers draw 2-2 at home against Flitwick Reserves. Jerome Lowe and Jamie Gachura on the Hammers scoresheet against visitors replies via Reece Smith and Dan Stafford. Whilst newly promoted Kempston Athletic opened their season with a 2-1 home victory over Green End Rovers thanks to goals from Ellis Sharp and Noah Biswell against a lone reply from Max Natola. 

 Division Three 

 The biggest win of the day went to Stopsley United Reserves with their 6-1 home victory over Caldecote A. Omar Leo and Owen Imprey with braces plus goals from Ryan Weedon and Milan Panchal doing the damage, against a lone reply from Luca Framcesca for the visitors. Whilst next best were LU Donz Development who were 5-0 home winners over Turvey where a brace from Ryan Newins and goals from Demario Legister, Cleopas Makaza and Ryan Wilkins brought up the Donz nap hand. 

 Also winning on home soil were Wilstead 4-2 over Flitwick Town A . Colin Marshall with a brace plus goals from Jude Thompson and Sam Ward doing the damage against Town replies from Garath Fossey and Clayton Hunt. 

 There were two away wins, a George Shaw penalty plus goals from Jonah Doohan and Luke Tyrell taking Ampthill Town Colts to a 3-0 victory at Atletic FC. Whilst home strikes from Michael Michalski and Ricky Stephens could not save Bedford Albion Development going down on home soil to Elstow abbey Reserves. Glenn Tumulty with a brace plus Daniel Shaid doing the damage. 

 The other two games finished all square. 3-3 between Everton Athletic and M&DH Clapham Sports. Adam Booth twice and Macauley Crane on the visitors scoresheet against home replies via Logan Smith, Lewis Lockey and Owen Hurst..Whilst Milosz Harchut was the FC Polonia (Luton ) marksman in their 1-1 draw with The 61 FC Luton Reserves whose replycame via Josh Izzard. 

 Division Four 

 Just four matches to report upon, two home wins and two away wins. On the away front Queens Park Crescents Development with goals from Nirbert Broniewicz and Hasan Nadeem won 2-0 at AFC Clophill. Whilst AFC Kempston Hammers Reserves were 3-1 victors at Flitwick Town Eagles Development. Kyle Lewis, Kinn Morey and Dylan Steffens marking the Hammers scorescore against a lone Eagles reply from Max Hurrell. 

 On the home front Cranfield United Development with goals from Loannis Leka, Ali Elforjani, Dylan Brown and Josh Araniello saw off Luton Phoenix 4-2 whose goals came via a brace for Muhammed Jawad Hussain. Whilst Westoning Blues ( last season's EB Lions ) beat DTCC FC by the same scoreline with goals from Ronald Schapp-Grant, Ben Gray, Joe Harrison and Ethan Young against replies via Ethan Kennedy and Luke James.
