Rovers lose their seasons unbeaten away ways to open up the Premier Division title race. |
Premier Division supported by Sportsform With league leaders Marston Shelton Rovers sitting the afternoon out their lead at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform league table is now down to four points after goals from Omojiseoluwa Bankole and James Box took AFC Oakley to a 2-1 victory at Elstow Abbey. The Abbey reply coming from Daniel Mattin.Whilst Wootton Blue Cross missed the chance to reduce that lead to two points and take up second spot when held to a 3-3 draw at Caldecote. Ryan Aka, Ben Smith plus an own goal marking their scoresheet to keep them just goal difference behind AFC Oakley in third place. Louie Clarke twice and Rafe Goodman once on the mark for the home side. With games in hand on all those clubs above them fifth place Queens Park Crescents still remain in the title race despite being held to a 1-1 home draw by Crawley Green Development. Faizen Fariad on their scoresheet against a Green reply from Robby Doran. Whilst the biggest win of the day went to Totternhoe Reserves who romped to a 8-0 home success over the bottom of the table Biggleswade FC Reserves. Jordan Knight with a hat-trick, Jacob Hubbock with a brace plus single goals from Luke Smith, Jacob Troughton-Smith and Ryan Donoghue doing the damage. Elsewhere, Biggleswade United Reserves took their unbeaten home ways up to three games with a 3-0 victory over Riseley Sports thanks to a brace of goals from Kingsley Bates and a strike from Jesus Mendoza. Whilst having lost their last three outings second from the bottom of the table Flitwick Town returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home victory over Shefford Town & Campton Reserves thus ending the visitors four game unbeaten away run. Phil Matthews netted both of the Town's goals. Division One The Division One title race is now officially down to a two way contest after Stopsley United in winning 5-0 at AFC Oakley Development gained the points that ensures they will at least end in season no lower than in the runners up spot ,Temitayo Akerele with a brace plus goals from Cheick Camara, Cullum Frater and Bradley Sweeney bringing up the nap hand..Whilst third place Kempston United became the first club to complete their season taking their winning ways up to five games when goals from Elijah Haynes and Rhys Popham saw them win 2-1 at Bedford Albion whose reply came via Paul Babbington to leave the Albion requiring the maximum points from their remaining three games to climb above United on goal difference come the end of the season. Having lost their previous three outings, Ickwell & Old Warden returned to winning ways when a goal from Jake Parratt took them to a 1-0 home success over Clifton.. Whilst Wootton Blue Cross Reserves with goals from Henry Ledbetter-Hart and Orestas Jonaitis enjoyed a 2-0 home victory over Buffs FC. Division One North Thurleigh are now nine points clear at the head of the Division One North league table following their 5-0 home win over Blunham, their seventh win on the bounce. Brad Duffett and Ed Shaw with braces plus a goal from Josh Marshall bringing up the nap hand. This defeat dropped Blunham down the standings into fourth place following victories for both Caldecote Reserves and AFC Bedford United. Caldecote Reserves are now sitting in second spot having played two games fewer than the league leaders after winning 2-1 at bottom of the table M&DH Clapham Sports thanks to goals from Riley Evans and Reece Glasgow the Sports reply coming from Charlie Connelly Whilst the United trail them just on goal difference and also having two games in hand on Thurleigh following their 3-1 home success over Green End Rovers. Cameron Cain, Joshua Odhiambo and Ellis Sharp on the United scoresheet against a lone Rovers reply from Max Natola. Elsewhere, Wixams Wanderers were 3-1 home winners over Shefford Town & Campton Development. Adam Jackson, Liam Munslow and Harrision White on the home scoresheet against a lone Town reply from Meshel Yaboah. Division Two South LU Donz remain unbeaten on home soil this season and six points clear at the head of the Division Two South league table after goals from Cameron Saunders and Troy Walker took them to a 2-1 victory over Stotfold Junior whose reply came from Joshua Evans. Whilst with New Bradwell St Peter Development losing at Harlington Juniors Reserves to now drop to third place they are overtaken by Lea Sports PSG who thanks to a 80th minute goal from Joe Campion won 1-0 at Luton Panthers. Now in fourth spot and with games in hand on all those above them to very much keep them in the title race are Harlington Juniors Reserves who made it eight wins on the spin when goals from Ben Cornwell and Connor Saunders took them to a 2-0 home victory over the previous mention New Bradwell St Peters Development. For bottom of the table Brache Phoenix it was defeat number eight on the bounce when they had only a goal from Cleopas Makaza to show from a 3-1 home defeat by AFC Kempston Town Hammers. Whilst second from the bottom of the table Caldecote A are now without a win from their last seven outings after going down to a 1-0 home reverse against Bletchley Scot whose goal came from Connor Vincent. Division Three Kempston Athletic remain 100% at home this season and seven points clear at the head of the Division Three league table after a hat-trick from Nikola Markovic and a goal from Sam Chinchen took them to their eight win on the bounce 4-3 over Dunstable Wanderers.The Wanderers came from Harry Saint twice and Louie Parker once. Whilst second place Lewsey Park have now won their last seven games following their 4-2 victory at the bottom of the table Everton Athletic. Kieran Archer, Jerome Lowe, Wayne O'Connor and Joshua Ogden all found the back of the net against a brace in reply from Owen Manning. For third place Sandy Reserves it was away defeat number four on the bounce in losing 6-2 at fourth place Atletic FC who only trail them by two points and having played two games fewer. Emmanuel Obodechine with a brace plus goals from Aaron Romain, Emmanuel Adjei, Gershom Makombe and Cameron Browne marking the home scoresheet against Sandy replies via Prince Asare and Adam Clark. Whilst fifth place Queens Park Crescents Development returned to winning ways with a 4-1 home victory over The 61 FC Luton Reserves. Volter Copezo, Ayaz Hussain and Ajmal Khan plus a Anas Bechroun penalty on the home scoresheet against a lone reply from Marvin Peters. The biggest win of the day was going to Wilstead who ran out 6-1 winners at Meltis Rangers. their fifth away victory on the bounce. Michael Jones with a brace plus goals from Cain Gentle-King, Paul Jackson, Jude Thompson and Colin Marshall only being replied to once by Charlie Smith for the Rangers. Whilst FC Polonia (Luton ) with goals from Fabien Pawelec, Karol Pryslak and Adam Chlapinski were 3-1 home winners over Elstow Abbey Reserves whose reply came from Connor Greensmith. Division Four The leadership of the Division Four league table is now in the hands of Stopsley United Reserves who were gifted three points when Henlow Hurricaines failed to raise a side to journey into Luton to meet them. Dropping into second spot are Ampthill Town Colts who lost their season's unbeaten ways when defeated 1-0 at Turvey whose goal came from William Westwood. Town however are just the single point behind the United and having played the two games fewer remain the firm favourites to lift the league title. For Catsbrook Wanderers it was a return to winning ways for the first time in seven outings when a goal from Joe Olesin saw them win 1-0 at third place Wootton Blue Cross A. Whilst AFC Clophill claimed their third home win on the bounce in beating Everton Athletic Reserves 4-0 with goals from Harry Lewis, Jonathan Smith, Hayden Stringer and Taylor Kilcoyne. Watson Shield Second Round Goals from Bryan Nwajei and James Westwood took AFC Oakley U18 Colts to a 2-0 home victory over DTCC FC. Wednesday 12th March 2025 Premier Division supported by Sportsform League leaders Marsron Shelton Rovers were to lose their season’s unbeaten ways on the road when beaten 4-3 by fourth place Cranfield United Reserves under the floodlights at Crawley Road. It was the United who took the lead just five minutes into the contest via Jamie Cerminara but the Rovers were level just five minutes later thanks to a strike from Jordan Conway. However they were to be 3-1 down by the interval following United goals from Sean Byrne (38mins ) and William Bolton just 60 seconds later. Second half action saw Harry Murray head the Rovers back into the game just five minutes in and a second goal from Jamie Cerminara on 70 minutes looked likely to help his side retain their season’s unbeaten ways. Alas it was not to be when in the 89th minute goalkeeper Ross Tompkins air-kicked a clearance to allow United’s James Manning to roll the ball into the back of an empty net for the winner. |
