Bedfordshire County Football League

Yesterday gave notice to the league that they are to fold with immediate effect. Citing lack of players to complete the season.
Their seasons record as now been expunged and a revised league table can be found on the league website.

Cranfield United's lead at the head of the Premier Division supported by Sportsform league table is now down to just three points after they were held to a 0-0 draw at bottom of the table Barton Rovers Reserves and second place Elstow Abbey who have played four games fewer retained their season's unbeaten ways in winning 5-0 at Biggleswade United Reserves. It took The Abbey just 26 seconds to take the lead at the Keech Hospice Care Stadium via Scott Alleyne , a lead they doubled with a header from Glenn Tumulty on 17 minutes who then grabbed his second of the night some 15 minutes later to make it 3-0 and looking like game over. 
United however came more into the game in the second period and looked far from a side struggling at the wrong end of the league standings, however Abbey via a second Alleyne goal 12 minutes from time and a Steve Gentle goal on 88 minutes made it 5-0 by the final whistle to seal their victory. 
Division Two supported by Hy-Pro action at Weston Park saw Wootton Blue Cross Reserves with goals from Jude Thomson, Noah Marsh and Keaton Marsh run out 3-1 home winners over Wilstead whose goal came via Sam Evans.. The three points lifting the Blue Cross up into fourth place in the league table just six points shy of current league leaders Westoning Recreation who have played one game more.

Action tonight saw the 2022-23 Britannia Cup get underway. with four games, only of which two were settled inside the first 90 minutes. For Sharnbrook it was a 3-1 away win at Shefford Town & Campton Reserves thanks to two goals fromJosh Griggs  and a single goal from Issac Jones. Whilst just down the road at Roker Park hosts Stotfold emerged the 3-2 winners over Queens Park Crescents. It was the Crescents who took the league just five minutes before the break when after Towheed Sharafoodin had saw his penalty kick beat out by home goalkeeper Connor Paisey he was on hand to net the rebound. 
The game was however settled in a crazy three minutes between the 60th &63th minute. inside a minute Othniel Lewis with a brace shot the home side into a 2-1 lead, which two minutes later the Crescents cancelled out via Mohammed Reheem Jabber before in the next minute Callum Mullins netted what turned out to be the winning goal. 
For Cranfield United it was a home penalty shoot-out 5-4 win over Crawley Green Reserves after 90 minutes of play saw the sides all square at 1-1 . Courtney Boughton on the United scoresheet against a Green reply from Robert Newman. Whilst AFC Kempston Town Hammers were the 3-0 penalty shoot out winners at Biggleswade United Reserves after 90 minutes play had saw the sides deadlocked at 2-2. Hayden Gardner and Danny Carter netting for United and Darius Fletcher and Ellis Crowsley for the Hammers.
