Cranfield United Reserves became the 13th team to have their name engraved upon the Bedfordshire County Football League Centenary Cup when under the floodlights at Hitchin Road ( the home of Shefford Town & Campton ) before an estimated crowd of 150 they ran out 5-2 winners over Lea Sports PSG. United were by far the quickest side out of the blocks and within the opening 11 minutes had raced into a 2-0 lead. The evergreen Martin Holland opening the scoring in the 8th minute before three minutes later Josh Thomas was on hand at the near post to flick the second goal passed PSG goalkeeper Charlie Yates from a corner.

Holland then coming up with perhaps the miss of the season when he failed somehow to hit the target from no more than a yard out, a miss that could have been costly at this stage of the game when just 60 seconds later PSG's James Haughney saw his effort flash just wide of the uprights from the edge of the penalty box. However, it looked game over in the 34th minute after United went 3-0 ahead via Kristain Esposito in the goal and move of the night which he started on the half-way line and finished with aplomb from close range. This would certainly have been the case four minutes later had Holland taken advantage of a clever lobbed ball by Ryan Phelps which left the PSG goalkeeper in no mans land and the goal at his mercy.

Whatever was said in the PSG dressing room at half-time certainly seemed to work has the game took a dramatic turn. Five minutes into the new period Joe Hennem was on hand to reduce the arrears to just two goals when heading home from close range then on the hour mark an attempted backpass from United's Oilver Merritt fell someway short to allow PSG's Kian Devers to nip in and make the scoreline 3-2 and but for the feet of United goalkeeper Oliver Kirkup keeping out an effort from Milton-Tomlinson-Dennis the perfect comeback would have been accomplished and the game all square on the hour mark.

Alas for PSG, United quickly restored their A game and within five minutes had put the game to bed. Robert Ellis Morgan making it 4-2 in the 65th minute and five minutes later Holland rising high to head home an Ellis Morgan cross to bring up the nap goal and a 5-2 scoreline. PSG really there after only going close once to reduce the arrears when Devers hit the outside of the goalposts from no more than six yards out.
