Biggleswade FC Reserves and Cranfield United claim top Beds Senior Trophy honours.
Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy Round Two

There was to be two away wins for our sides at South Midlands League oppostion to share the top honour in round two of this seasons Bedfordshire FA Senior Trophy. At Forde Park, Biggleswade FC Reserves ran out the 3-0 winners over hosts Langford thanks to goals from Cian Mitchell, Oscar Smith and Kian Coles. Whilst at Hitchin Road, Cranfield United were to emege the 4-2 penalty shoot-out victors over Shefford Town & Campton after the opening 90 minutes had seen the sides deadlocked at 3-3. It was the Town who were the quickest out of the blocks racing into a 2-0 lead via a brace of goals from Henry Snee in the 8th and 17th minutes of the contest before United's Courtney Boughton reduced the arrears to 2-1 just three minutes later and that's the way the scoreline still read at half-time which was much as a relief to the Town than to United who had seen the woodwork on three occasions deny them a equalizer. However they were level the tie just three minutes into the second period via Drew Mitten who then from the penalty spot shot United 3-2 ahead on ther hour mark only to see Snee complete his hat-trick in the 85th minute to take the contest to a penalty shoot-out. Tyler Fry, Mitten, Boughton and Aaron Chaplin all finding the back of the net for United whilst United goalkeeper Louis Bowley saved the second home kick from Ben Moore and then saw their fifth taker Jake Renney blast his effort wide of the uprights.

There was to be even more penalty shoot-out drama at Woodlands where hosts Bedford Albion emerged the 12-11 spot kick winners over Queens Park Crecents after 90 minutes play had saw the sides all square at 2-2. Guiseppe Lamberti and Josh Emmerton netting for the Albion in reply to a Crescents brace from Scott Alleyne.

Also going into the hat for the third round draw will be Stevington who with two goals from Sam King won 2-1 at Flitwick Town for whom Daniel Stafford netted. Alas for Marston Shelton Rovers it was the end of the road having just a goal from Sam Smith to show from their 4-1 defeat at South Midlands League Totternhoe.
